Creating software is one of the most rewarding jobs you can have. U.S. News and World Reports ranks it the #1 job in America. There's a huge variety of interesting projects a developer can work on, and opportunities for a customized career path that matches the individual's interests and needs.

So why is that women make up only 25% of the IT workforce? Women should be in software development in greater numbers. They are a valuable part of any software team for a variety of reasons, and thus they should be encouraged to pursue technical careers. In this talk we will discuss concrete steps that individual women can take to get a great software development job, carve out a personalized career in IT, and encourage other women to join in on the fun.
