With us since: August 2009
He got his start working for a fifty-some-store Burger King franchise as the primary developer of WhopperWeb—an intranet that complemented the WhopperWare software platform and facilitated the dissemination of policy to and data collection from the stores.
Since that time he has worked for a number of advertising agencies under the slightly less confusing, if less precise title, of “Web Designer.” He was part of a number of teams building both internal and consumer-oriented web products ranging in scale and complexity. During this time he also supported these web properties through art direction and execution of complementary media including: radio ad copy, television storyboards, billboard and magazine ads, logo design, and brand development.
Later he founded and ran Duovox a consultancy created to help clients design products that leveraged the unique strength of the web: its ability to both speak and listen to customers. During this time he began to call his work, “Experience Design” as he helped clients build relationships, inspire conversation and engage customers in new ways.
Shortly before joining Atomic Object he co-founded the mobile applications company Six Voices designing their brand and core product, and establishing their development process.
All of this has given him a well-rounded appreciation for the concerns of both large corporate clients and small startups.
As Director of Experience Design for Atomic Object Samuel helps clients develop compelling interactive products through the application of holistic design. That is, design which considers not only visual impact but information architecture, ethnography, storytelling, interaction design and more.
