With us since Dec. 2005
I started my first “homepage” in 1994 and slowly watched my animated gifs get replaced with DHTML and then AJAX, my tables become CSS and standardized html and my hobby become a profession. I started consulting in 2001 and learned the difference between a webpage and a web application.

In 2003 I received a B.S. in Computer Science from GVSU and started working full time with the University’s webteam. I wrote web applications in Coldfusion, Fusebox, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. As their 2nd full-time employee I gained experience working directly with customers, designing databases, usability and almost every roll associated with web applications. I was able to work on everything from small forms to large applications such as the health benefit system.

After 4 years I decided to move on with my career and headed out west. There I worked with a small drug research startup on a Ruby on Rails application. I helped develop an application to aid the discovery of drug candidates.

Since joining Atomic Object I’ve had the chance to work with many exciting projects:
DynoHost, MatchStick, Joecartoon, Personal Designer, Realius.com, CatalogChoice.org

As well as gaining programming knowledge I’ve also focused a great deal on usability. I enjoy the artistic challenges of photography in my spare time. I find usability and user experience design to be a very challenging hybrid between taking photos and writing software.

I’ve written software in:
Java, C#, Coldfusion, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, PL/SQL and Ruby

I’ve worked with these tools:
Ruby on Rails, Ajax, Fusebox, MachIII, CSS, HTML, Cucumber,

I’ve tested with:
CFUnit, NUnit, Nmock, Junit, Jsunit, EasyMock, Mocha, Rspec, Cucumber, Selenium

I’ve used these databases:
Oracle, MS-SQL, MySQL, SQLite

I have indirectly contributed to these open source projects:
Laszlo Mock
Ruby on Rails
