Atomic will show our innovative test-driven development approach to embedded systems work along with our open source testing framework and tools

January 18, 2007

Mike Karlesky and Greg Williams will be presenting at the Embedded Systems Conference, Silicon Valley, in April 2007. As the premier conference in the embedded field, ESC is the perfect place to share our work on continuous integration, test automation, test-driven development, and design patterns.

Atomic adapted these core agile practices for embedded development while working with a customer in the materials handling domain. A small memory and simple 8-bit processor puts very different constraints on the framework for mocking and test automation. A new design pattern, Model Conductor Hardware, addresses the difficult challenge of decoupling hardware from software design. Atomic will be offering these tools with an open source license by the time of the conference.

The 90 minute presentation is entitled Mocking the embedded world: practical TDD, continuous integration, and design patterns
