Karlin Fox presented our best testing practices for Rails development at the first Ruby Conf MI
August 26, 2006
Grand Rapids, MI – Atomic Object is on the leading edge of web development with Ruby on Rails. Taking development in the relatively young but very rapidly growing Rails framework a step further, Atomic has a set of best testing practices for creating fully-tested Rails web applications.
Karlin Fox’s presentation, “Rails At Atomic Object: Testing strategies and tips” was well-received by the fifty or so attendees at one of the first successful regional Ruby conferences, RubyConf*MI.
Most of the Atomic best practices for Rails development center around Atomic’s core strength of software testing. According to David Crosby, senior AO developer, “We’ve been doing web development with Rails since late fall of 2004. It’s the first web framework we’re still happy with more than a year later. In large part this comes down to the ability that Ruby gives us to apply our usual test automation techniques and iterative development approach.”
The slides from Karlin’s talk can be downloaded here.
